What is it?

POLY FOAM polyurethane ( PUR ) / polyiscyanurate ( PIR ) is one of the most effective insulation materials commonly available today. it is also extremely versatile and can be used just about any where.

it helps to keep buildings cool and our food chilled,it is usually hidden, but you can find it every where from sports stadium to hospitals, cold stores to houses.

General description

Polyfoam Polysocyanurate foam is manuactured in similar way to standard polyurethane. polyfoam PIR has all the characteristics and advantages of rigid polyurethane foam but offers geatly incresed resistance to burning and spread of flame and is able to withstand temperatures up to 140 c. when subjected to fire the outer surface of the doam forms astrong carbonaceous layer which retards further flame spread and penetration. for ease of identification, POLYFOAM PIR is colored blue or green.

Application

Polyfoam PIR has many dierse applications in the oil, petrochemical and general insulation industries. it can be used for pipe, tank and vessel insulation in process plant and air conditioning system. it can be laminated to rigid or flexible substrates to give a wide variety of properties suitable for duct, pipe and tank insulation.

Availability

SLABS PIPE SECTIONS PIPE FITTINGS including elbows ,tees, valve covers etc. Product many be unfaced with aluminum foil, PVC vapor barrier, fibre tissue & craft paper.

Features and Benefits of POLY FOAM PUR/PIR foam insulation:

  • Constant thermal performance- reducing cooling cost for thelife time of a building.
  • Dimensionally stable-in range of service temperature ( -200 c + 120c )
  • closed cell structure and excellent moisture resistance-high levels of closed cells offering high levels of buoyancy.
  • Chemical resistance - Provides excellent resistant to many common chemicals solvents and oils.
  • High strength to weight ratio-strong & Rigid
  • fire performance- POLY FOAM PUR/PIR is usually used at lower thicknesses than other insulates, so that their heat or fuel contribution to a fore is low compared to other thicker insulating materials
  • enhanced compressive and tensile strength at cryogenictemperatures make it resistant cracking

POLY FOAM PIR/PUR

  • Oil and Petrol chemical plants
  • chiller plant
  • Brewery
  • Pipe Tank and vessel insulation.
  • marine Buoyancy
  • Boat building
  • General Moldings/ Decorative Designing.
  • Civil Construction
  • Commercial refrigeration / industries.
  • Duct insulation in H VAC insulation panels
  • Shipping and off shore installation

POLY FOAM Density range

32kg/m to 120 kg/m
special densities can be made upon customer requirement.

POLY FOAM Standard sizes

Polyfoam slab size are 1) 2400mm(L) X 1200mm(W) X 8mm - 450mm
1) 2000mm(L) X 1000mm(W) X 8mm - 750mm
1) 2500mm(L) X 750mm(W) X 8mm - 800mm
any special sizes can be cut as per customer request

Polyfoam pipe insulation:

polyfoam pipe sections and fitting ranging outer dianeter ( OD ) 17mm onwards and length up to 1 mtr. with various thickness and segments.

Exellent Insulation

The organic blowing agent trapped within the closed cells of the foam having a very low thermal conductivity, makes the rigid polyurethane foam an exceptinally efficient insulation material for a given thickness. it provides greater resistance to the tranfer of heat or cold than any commerically availabe insulating material.

Service Temperatures

polyurethane can be used from -160 c upto +160 c temperatures below c and above 120 c require special methods of installation. in such case do not hesitate to contact us.

Workability

polyurethane can be easily cut with same blades or knives. it is resistant to all kinds of aahesives, biturninous emulsions and hot bitumen ( 180c to 220 c ). we will, however assist you to find the proper adesives for your particular application.
